Brown Paper Sack Gift Bag Tutorial

Here is my first craft tutorial. I hope it is easy to understand!  The beginning of May I had to have a brown paper sack, you know the lunch kind, for something. They come in packs so I had to purchase a whole pack, it contained 40 or 50 and is fairly cheap. I wanted to use them for something else and had seen something similar, probably on Pinterest, and thought using them for a gift bag would be great with end of the school year close.

Here is what you need:

-Brown paper lunch sack (bought for about $2 at Target)
-fake flowers (bought for $1 at a dollar store)
-scrapbook paper (that I already had)
-glue (I used tacky glue)
-scissors

 1) Cut a rectangle out of your scrapbook paper to the size you want. Then glue the scrapbook paper to the bag. Attach the paper like a pocket so there is a space for the flowers.

2) Cut the flowers so they fit into the pocket, and you are done!

These gift bags are simple, easy, and cheap. They seemed to be a success and were well liked!

My Kindergartner

Emma finished kindergarten a few days ago, so I thought I would post about her year in kindergarten. I can not believe she will soon be a first grader *insert tears*! I was so nervous at the beginning of the year, I was worried about many things. About her being in school all day, her behavior and how she would perform in school. Needless to say the first week was a nervous one. We made it through and she quickly adapted to going to school, even though up to the last day she had trouble waking up in the mornings. She received green lights everyday for good behavior. We are so proud and are going to reward her (this will be another post soon). We were blessed she went to a great school and had an amazing teacher! She has learned and grown so much in the last year. Here are pictures of her throughout the year:

                                                            First day of school

                                                                    Picture day
Emma became a Daisy this year!
                                                                       Field trip

                                                                Last day of school

It is so hard to believe how fast she is growing up, seems like yesterday I was holding her for the first time in the hospital. Now she is a spunky little girl and her personality is blooming. We are excited for what 1st grade holds!

New Blog!

I finally took the plunge and decided to make a blog. I plan on updating about our family and occasionally posting crafts and tutorials. I will briefly update about our family (I will post more in depth posts about events such as our wedding, our children and other happenings in future posts). We are a family of 4, well 5 if we include our dog Ernie. We are from Kentucky and currently living in Kansas. Creg is in the military, and Jondra is a stay at home mom. Emma is 5 and just finished Kindergarten. Ella is 9 months old, crawling and into everything. I hope to keep our blog updated!
